Industrial Advisory Council (IAC)


Our Goal - to support the educational mission of the Department of Mechanical Engineering and foster mutually beneficial collaborations  between  the Department and Industry

What the IAC Does

The IAC evaluate the department's curriculum at both the undergraduate and the graduate programs, provide resources and design projects, and facilitate industry interaction with individual faculty members. By creating opportunities, the IAC and the Department of Mechanical Engineering have formed a partnership with the goal of continual improvement.

The IAC bring an industry component to the educational experience of our mechanical engineering students in the following ways:
2010 - present

Sponsor senior design and graduate design projects

Deliver seminars to both graduate and undergraduate students

Give classroom guest lectures

Support plant/lab site visits for students

Provide internship opportunities for students (both graduate and undergraduate)

Accept adjunct faculty positions for some applied courses

IAC Meetings

IAC meetings are usually held twice a year, in the fall and spring. The next meeting is scheduled for April, 2015 and will take place on the CU campus, in Boulder, Co. Please check back on this page for exact dates, times and locations.

2010 - present
The IAC give advice to the department relative to the general applicability of the curriculum, the sufficiency of specific course, strategic directions, department processes, etc. and participate on ad-hoc department committees.
